President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono announced a Cabinet reshuffle by naming several new faces as candidates for ministers to step up implementation of development policies and programmes

Dr. Mari Elka Pangestu was appointed tourism and creative economies minister, while former tourism minister Jero Wacik was moved to the energy and mineral resources.

Mari Elka Pangestu says she relishes the challenges of her new job, given the potential of the country's vast creative economy.

As part of her first 100-days target, Mari said she would establish a new organization to mark the presence of creative economy work in a ministry previously known as the culture and tourism ministry.
