Night ritual of Saparan Wonolelo Category : Photo Journey
In Jogjakarta, lots of rituals are held, some in noon, the other in evening until night; I talked about a ritual which is held in the night, perhaps 7am-11am, attended by hundreds of people. It's Saparan Wonolelo, a ritual to commemorate Ki Ageng Wonolelo, an Islam preacher who teaches Islam in Wonolelo Village. It was an interesting ritual, because you can see hundreds of people attending the ceremony, participating on culture parade and ended by grabbed a ton of pancakes!
Some tips may you have to prepare on the assignment:
Preparing your camera and lenses, you may need zoom lens.
Please use flash to shot in the dark.
Taking your raincoat on your bag
Beware of the pickpocket.
While thousands of pancakes were throwing to the visitors, it's time to you to shot the moment. You can come near to the noise, or you can far away from them, using your tele to shot on.
