Colorful Summer in Yogyakarta
For you who enjoyed travel photography, there is no doubt about putting  Yogyakarta in your summer journey's top list. During this summer , Yogyakarta offers you a kind of photography's heaven which start from May to October. More than 20 events ritual-cultures in medium to large scales that you can shotthrough the lens of your camera. That's not including the sub-scale events which also held throughout the summer.

Amazingly, these events are always experiencing changes significantly from time to time, so it wouldn't  give such monotonous  impression that had been obtained in several other events outside Yogyakarta. For example,  Vesak Day at Candi Sewu and Candi Borobudur  which held once a year ( this year will be held in May). You could find noticeable changes in every aspect each year , includes : schedule, decoration , leading priests, etc. These changes giving you a different shades, different point of view. As impact, you'll never get bore to take photographs , even that happens in same place every year.

Another big event you can attend would be " 264 Tahun Pengetan Adeging Nagari Ngayogyakarta" is celebration commemorates Mangkubumi as Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono 1 who founded the kingdom of Yogyakarta which will also be held in May 2011. This is one of the original ritual-cultures event always awaited by many photography enthusiast. All elements inside Sultan's Palace in Yogyakarta will be involved in an ritual-cultre activitiesintended to celebrate the founding of Keraton Yogyakarta ( Sultan's Palace ) over 264  years ago .Here at this event ,your eyes will be pampered with a variety of attractions , rituals, and the carnival which will take place throughout the day.

If you've never seen this, it will give you opportunity to enrich your views about Yogyakarta with its semi monarch culture. For you that have seen this event before, series of activities are still worth to see in addition to finding new things and differences, which may be missing last year from your sight and camera.

You can also attend regular events such as "Ramayana"  ballet. This popular Hindu's history-folk is displayed in outdor stage of Candi Prambanan regularly at least 16 times per month. Exploit its form in local Javanese ballet, "Ramayana" is perfectly presented by professional dancers to bring out every aspect in this legend alive.
