No one doubt, that's herbs and herbal medicine for health are not as famous as chemical medicines. It's similar like when you went to the fast food restaurant and ate fried fries which potatoes came from million miles away, put in the huge refrigerator for weeks and served it in your table. Than potatoes you bought from a market then you serve it by your self in minutes.  Potato comes from the restaurant which is simpler, easier to eat but not fresh.

Nobody doubts that chemical drug is good for curing the disease. It runs a very long process for researching and screening before releasing out to the market.  But, it has side effect to the body, in the long processing, industry gave many additional ingredients and for some reason it could be absorbed by the body perfectly. And that's a starting point for a new disease.

People who concern about the issue started for a new alternative way for their longer living and healthiness which is without chemical drug. They made a place for people who want to try drinking the ancestor's concoction, some medicines are gotten an improvement by the experts. They called it Jamu Godog Cafe. In the Javanese words, 'Jamu' means tonic which is made of medical herbs. And 'Godog' means boiling. So, you could combine it by yourself. Drinking Jamu is hundreds years tradition for Javanese. The ancestor was made by leaves, roots, trunk and many things come from the nature. And now you can sit, relax and enjoy the beauty of Mount Merapi during your recovery time.

The owner of the cafe tried to make the same things like their ancestors. They use wide-mouthed clay pot for cooking herbs. They put roots, leaves and many things inside the pot and boiling it by firewood. There are several pots in the line. In every single pot, the herb is boiled by different ingredients. It depends on what kind of the disease what will be cured of. They work is not by their self; the owner has several experts who work as quality control, such a pharmacist. The pharmacist makes sure that herbs combined correctly based on the standard. Even herbs less dangerous than chemical, it couldn't be mixed by any ingredients. Herbs can change from drugs to poison if it's served without certain portion.

Many people came to the cafe, from Indonesia, German, Japan and America. They said they are getting better after drinking Jamu. They did not just suggested, but they have check it to the hospital and made sure by medical perspective. Even it's kind of something new, and maybe weird for them, they tried to believe that everything came from nature better than factory did. According to an American said in her picture hangings on the cafe's wall: our roots are our strength. And now it's time for us to respect our self by the nature.
