Ascent of Mount Merapi, Commemorate the independence day
Date : 16 August 2010 until 17 August 2010
Location : Selo, Magelang

Merapi is the best place for trekking in the June-August. Clear skies and no rain in the night.  You may start from the Kinahrejo Village, Cangkringan, trekking steep path up for 8 hours or start from the Selo Village, Magelang, as long as five hours.

Ascent of Mount Merapi, which conducted every 17 August every year which has become an annual event which is also to commemorate the independence day of Republic of Indonesia will be followed by many participants.

The trekking path is dominated with 45 degree path rocks. It's an extra ordinary volcano trekking. In the top, you will see volcano smoke.
